Janurary 2002 Team Scoob joined ranks with Don Kolt Racing for the Whiplash/SNORE Parker 400, Parker Arizona. The Team Scoob Race truck was utilized to Pre-run the course. And Scoob Maloney was selected to by Second Driver for Don Kolts "Thunder" 8 Truck. After catching and passing several 8's and running in the second place, the race had to be abandoned due to a failing motor.
Janurary 2002 Whiplash Annnual awards banquet. Team Scoob is Officially the 2001 Class 3 Champion.
December 2001 Running in only 2wd Team Scoob raced against the 8's at the Point to Point 200, Sonora Mexico. Team Scoob brought home a 4th in Class 8 and a 1st in Class 3.
November 2001 Team Scoob Teamed up with Doherty Motorsports and Silver Spoon Racing for the Baja 1000. Scoob was scheduled to Co-drive with Bob Sheppard for part of the Baja 1000 in the Doherty Motorsports Class 8. See full story and photos at www.DohertyMotorsports.com
Labor Day, 2001 A very disappointing result for TeamScoob DNF at RM 8 for catastrophic failure of the transfer case.
July 4, 2001 After some major modifications to the race truck by Nichols Fabrication, Team Scoob placed 4th out of 10, racing against the highly competitive class 8's at the Whiplash, Midnight at the Oasis! This puts Team Scoob 1st in Class 3 Championship standings. Full story coming soon.

Feb 3, 2001. Whiplash Parker 400, Parker Arizona. The showing was awesome. 11 class 8's and 4 class 3's. Team Scoob caught the leader in first 16 miles, then we were doomed with two flat tires, one due to a wheel failure(rock) and the other unknown, which caused us to drive about 25 miles on the bare rim. The final straw was a fuel injection pump failure at check 4. The Truck ran great, just a little bad luck.

The Maloney Racing team officially received the 2nd Place Championship trophy January 13, 2001 for the 2000 season. I wish to thank everyone that made this possible for us, Co-driver and friends Aaron and Tiffany Commons of Commons Motorsports, Co-Driver and excellent fabricator, Chad Nichols of Nichols Fabrication, Art Carr Performance Products, Dave Sharp's Transmission of Tucson, Steve Kuker and Pam of ADS Machine, Larry's Engine and Marine, Don Kolt of Oracle Wetmore car wash, Mike and Ellen Doherty of Doherty Plumbing and Doherty Motorsports, Jeff and Jessica Wells, Dan Winters, Predator Truck Inc. , Kingshocks, Whiplash Racing, and of course my ever tolerant Wife Ann.
December 11-12, 2000 Rocky Point Mexico. Nearly flawless race, leaky radiator and malfunctioning ignition circuit ended the race 30 miles from the finish line and 15sec from catching the leader. 206 out of 234 miles completed for a 2nd place. Dave Sharp of Tucson repaired the Race Tranny perfectly which did not skip a beat and ran cool all day.
October 21-22, 2000. Parker, Arizona. Despite killing two transmissions, an exhaust header, and a front drive shaft we managed to finish two days of racing to take another 1st Place!
September 2, 2000. Snowflake, Arizona. Incredible race put on by Whiplash! 5 Class 3's showed. Team Scoob took 1st Place! We ran clean all day not one stop and no flats. The New Art Carr tranny and the "Larry's engine and Marine" ran flawlessly. click on features for full race story.
June 24, 2000. Holbrook. We were not able to get the new ART CARR tranny installed in time to make the race. The race was majorly changed due to an early monsoon season which made it from a desert course to a stadium style course...the best laid plans... The race team actually got the truck done saturday evening after giving up hope on making it to the race the night before. Saturday evening the truck was tested and the tranny and engine are working great. A couple more test sessions and we will be ready for The Snowflake 150, Snowflake AZ on labor day weekend.
April 28, 2000. Rock to Rock. Great showing for Heavy Metal. Great time in Mexico as always but rushed a new engine install, and haunting tranny troubles ended in a DNF. Still able to hold 2nd place for Points Champion. Complete story in "features"

Jan 15, 2000 Y2K Parker 400k. Great Race! some of the Big Dogs showed, Ragland, Taylor... Team Scoob took 3rd in Class 3 after a 20min pit fix on the begining of the first lap and a 2 hour delay limping and repairing a "loose axle" on the second lap after leading the race up to that point.
Dec 2, 1999 Parker Gran Prix. No Class 3 Vehicles showed leaving the Points Lead Secure By Team Scoob. 1999 Class 3 Champion.
